People with Peripheral Artery Disease or PAD are up to seven times at higher risk for heart attack and stroke.
They often dismiss symptoms, such as fatigue, poor leg circulation and leg pain or discomfort during activity. If you are over age 50 or you have a family history of stroke or heart disease, you should be screened.
The fee is $60 and includes screening of the carotid artery for stroke risk, abdominal aortic aneurysm screen, peripheral arterial screening of the legs, blood work for lipids/cholesterol/glucose (4-hour fast required) and review of tests by a physician.
Two Screening dates are available:
Tuesday, September 14 (4-8 p.m.) – Banner Desert Medical Center
Thursday, September 16 (2-6 p.m.) – Banner Heart Hospital
